Public Power Corportation (PPC)
Public Power Corportation (PPC) is the major electricity utility in Greece, with an installed capacity of about 12 GWe, more than 80% of total. Its portfolio includes lignite, oil, natural gas and hydroelectric stations, as well as by wind and solar energy parks. PPC is the sole electricity generating company in Greek Islands and PPC Renewables SA (PPCR), 100% subsidiary of the Public Power Corporation SA, possesses RES units (PV, wind parks) in a number of Greek islands. Under the new conditions that are shaping up in the electricity market, PPC’s strategic direction is the expansion of its business activities in other areas and products, with Natural Gas being a significant opportunity, especially in the non-interconnected islands where natural gas penetration can be supported through its own autonomous thermal generation.
